Billy Joe is our pocket sized rock n roll boyfriend right Allison and 668?

Billy Joe is just a wee little guy. I think I love him. Green Day was so amazing! They get an A+++ in encouraging audience participation! When we got to our seats, I scanned the floor and saw how much dance room there was, and for a minute wished I was down there so I could bounce around freely. That didn't last long though, cause I realized we had truly kick ass seats (thank you Al, you rock at picking concert seats!)

Just before Green Day came on, a dude in a PINK fuzzy bunny suit came out on stage and started cavorting around, dancing, bending over and wiggling his bunny bum at us. It was hilarious! I swear to you now, I believe it was Billy Joe in that bunny costume!

That was only the beginning of a night crammed with delightful surprises from our boys in the Green Day band! Billy Joe introduced himself like this "Hi, I'm Billy Joe, and I'm from the Green Day Band!" (in a southernish twang) *mel instantly falls in love* Why can't I find me a boyfriend like that in real life?

Everyone in the stadium stood, and I was instantly overjoyed. Oh GOOD, I don't have to sit! We remained out of our seats for the remainder of the TWO HOUR set! First some things I have to tell you before I forget: The backdrop screen for the show was great! everyone in our party really dug that! Sexy! Numerous people made their way onto the stage (all wee kids, or teenagers) to rock out, hug and sing and play guitar with the band) all preceded Billy Joe shouting "GET YOUR ASS UP HERE!" so fucking cool right?!! I loved it so much. I wanted to get my ass up on that stage and hug him.

Billy Joe loves to play with the audience. He brought out a super soaker water gun, and sprayed the people on the floor, then told a kid to get his ass up on stage, handed him the water gun to continue spraying people while he fired t-shirts into the audience with a canon. He also loves to conduct the audience cheering, singing along and hand waves. Much time was spent in this way. I wooted, and I danced. Someone spilled beer on my feet I think, cause they were all sticky when I got home. Gross! Never wear flip flops to a stadium rock concert!

A kid named Caillum was brought on stage to sing a song, and he must have been dying with excitement; I know I was excited for him. I screamed "YAY" with hand claps and jumped up and down. Seriously, having to sit at that point would have killed me. Whew! Next a girl with purple hair was pulled up on stage for a cuddle. I bet she was exploding with excitement. Do you think she could fall asleep last night? I don't think so! Another dude from the audience got onstage to play guitar for Jesus of Suburbia. He was really good!

Ok, well this was basically just me, babbling my excitement Post Green Day at you. I hope it made sense Ha ha! I will add more as I remember it, if I remember. My hearing is almost back to normal *still happily bouncing around with huge grins* XOXO

Quotes of the evening:

Billy Joe "Get your ASS up HERE"

Me "YAY! I LOVE HIM"

Allison "Would you like some of my twix?" Me "No thanks, oh well maybe just a we bit of a piece or I will be bouncing off the walls" Allison *one raised eyebrow* "And this is you sedate?!!" XD *loves*

Billy Joe "I want to fuck each and every one of you right now" (near the end of the show, I guess we made him happy)

It's GREEN DAY tomorrow!

About this time tomorrow I will be with 668akaNeighbourofthebeast and Allison at the Green Day concert at GM Place. God, I am so excited about that! I intend to soak up every single second with my friends and enjoy it to it's fullest! I've been looking forward to it for so long it's hard to believe its only hours away *boing boing*

I was lucky last weekend too, spending 2 whole days with my best friends in the world. After the Grouse Mountain trip on Saturday I was pretty tired, but my friends picked me up on Saturday for a day which included Denny's breakfast, Naked People, Sand between my toes, a stair climb from hell, Lemon cake to die for, and a marvelous wind storm all in that order.

After brunch we went to THE NAKED BEACH. Oh boy! I will post some pics here (no naked ones though, don't worry ha ha) I thought the stairs back up from the beach were going to be the end of me. Luckily there was lemon cake at the end of that journey! True Confections really is a great dessert restaurant.

I hope everyone had a magnificent Canada Day. Mine was pretty meh...stayed home most of the day before wandering to the skate park to chill for a bit. XO

I'm telling you what we're not, we're not people who jam staples into other people's heads, that's CIA crap!

A good part of my day is spent prying staples out of papers, because we do not allow staples in patient's charts. Problem is, every secretary, unit clerk and whathaveyou seems to be STAPLER MAD!! This is what I want to do to all of their staplers.

Or just walk up to them, grab their stapler, Shriek "USE PAPER CLIPS DAMN YOU* and staple a lab report to their forehead* Ok, maybe I need some time off work.....

New-ish Job

Week Two into my new job. A twitter friend suggested I watch American Splendor. I thought I hadn't seen it before, but yes, I had. Anyways, at least the job is daytime hours monday to friday, and there are still benefits (yay)

Kidnapped for a day of fun and mayhem

Friday night Chris from Calgary and Vieh from Victoria (my two bestie friends from Jr High) decided at the spur of the moment to come to Vancouver for a visit. So Saturday afternoon they swooped in and "dragged me off" for a day of fun and games.

First we went to Stanley Park where many views were admired, then the beach. Vieh and I agreed how going to the beach made us want to throw ourselves into the water, so that is what we did. (While Chris looked disdainfully on) I had a hell of a time getting my tights off without anyone on the beach noticing.

NOTE: Converse are not recommended beach footware

Vieh and I played at the shoreline, making fun with a wave game, see how far we could run out until the waves chased us back again. Then we collected shells, tried to find hermit crabs (alas only two dead ones) and ended up finding a wee baby starfishie. it was so cute.

We visited Granville Island after that, and Chris treated us to a FABULOUS meal at The Sandbar. Seriously, the meal was so good I felt like I was brain-damaged afterwards!

I forgot my camera at home, but Chris promises to email me the photos he took, so I will post them when I gets them!

Happy Mummy's day to all the Mummys out there

JULY!!!!!

Making and Exhibit of Himself

Ha ha! Jarvis Cocker is a nut! I love him. You can view video feed of his latest experiment from his website; currently listing the videos on the front page The sound is a bit crunchy, but I found it interesting for a bit. I only viewed the first video and will probably check out the rest this weekend

Jarvis newsletter quote worth sharing:

"I have lost count of the number of articles proclaiming the imminent or actual death of the music industry. Does this mean that music can now go back to being an art form again? & If so, is it the first art form to begin adapting itself to the post-capitalist society we now find ourselves living in? Or is it just something you get free when you buy a mobile phone? Digital content"

Sucked In To The Twitter-verse

I've gone and done it. Joined twitter a while back. For the first month I didn't think it would really last very long; seemed so boring and pointless. Then I found a few to follow, and they followed me back and I could see their "tweets" in my feed. I was mesmerized! Then I discovered celebrity twitterers...oh my!

A few nights back I was chatting on MSN with a fellow blogger, and we started off by discussing a news story about a star which exploded 13 Billion years ago ... Then, we started twittering while we chatted, talking about who was the most interesting and funny twitterer.. Next thing we knew we were discussing hollywood gossip, and suddenly my friend asked me "Why are we talking about this" I answered promptly, knowing without any doubt "Twitter will MELT your brain"

So be forwarned, if you decide to cross over to the twitter side of the Internet, Following too many celebrities will cause your brain to turn into a gooey puddle of mush!!!!!

That is all :O)

Still Floating

....On a happy fluffy cloud of Leonard Cohen Goodness!

It's been 5 days since the concert at GM Place, but I am still all aflutter! Will was good enough to share this link on Twitter, so I am passing it on to you. I could relive this concert every day *gooseybumples*

Ok, apparently the Leonard Cohen video is now down and they have moved on to the next thing, so I've removed the embedded video. So, if you are interested, you can always check youtube, or buy the DVD :O) *cheers*

Russell Brand Makes Me Feel Funny In My Pants

My newest and bestest find; Russell Brand. Rawr! I found his website via my twitter account; you can find it HERE where he posts frequently, including video clips. I adore how in touch he is with his fans; I believe it will make him even more adored and famous. Smart man.

I hope he comes to Vancouver sometime in the near future. It seems to me his stand up comedy would be best viewed LIVE (the dvd is really great). This fellow Gemini is my brand of funny, (and did I mention he's quite hawt?)

My next bookstore purchase will be his Bookywook Maybe Vieh and I can get our hot little hands on it by next weekend before we go see Leonard Cohen at GM Place on the 19th of April. (8 more sleeps WOOOOO!)

Anyways, I digress (im so excited, can you blame me?) Here is a wikipedia page about him. He's an interesting person who seems to lead a wild juicy life.

Punk N Pie

Im trying to write this post on blogger right now, but Blogger is being a big ole BITCH! *sigh* So Im gonna compose it in a note on Facebook, and paste it in here later!

All week I was looking forward to last night. 668 aka Neighbor of the beast and I had planned on meeting up for pie and coffee, and then she came across an event she thought we would both enjoy. The Vancouver Historical Society hosted a lecture by Scott Beadle on "The Early History of Punk in Vancouver" As a young kid, Scott started his own Punk fanzine, inspired by local Vancouver Punk Shows. He said Punk inspired people (the audience) to want to join in and DO SOMETHING. I was so stoked!

Last night was fabulous, and Scott's lecture was enhanced by a projected slide show comprised of scans of posters and photos by Bev Davies. I was thrilled to see photos of someone from my past (who I haven't seen since 1995-ish in Cranbrook) Zippy Pinhead (His real name is Bill) Bill's younger brother Bob was my bestest friend, and even though we aren't in touch, I think of them every now and then, and wonder what they're up to. I'm sure they are just as funny, and lovely as they were back then.

I didn't realize until after the lecture, that Bill's friend Brad was in the audience...I mean ok EVERYONE knew the dude was there, because he was so vocal, but what I didn't realize was that he was THE Brad I knew. A lot changes in 10 or so years.... I wish I had realized that sooner, and perhaps said hello. Then again, that was a long time ago. It would've been embarassing as hell to get a blank look instead of an "oh yes, I remember that" hehe So I shall keep my soccer ball pillow story to myself and smile when I think of it.

Anyways the lecture and photos were fabulous! It was the first time I had been to the Vancouver Museum. We were told that Scott is working on a book, so I will be keeping my eye out for this. I will post links at the bottom of the post so you can check things out for yourselves.

Squirrels Love Starbucks

This little guy amused me so much, I had to post it on Allison's Facebook wall, cause you know how much she loves squirrels ;O) I thought I would share it with my bloggies as well!

This demented little squirrel was bothering me during my lunch at work today(Tuesday). He kept running right up to me on the bench I was sitting on, and I kept shooing him away! Finally he gave up, and turned his attention to a Starbucks cup sitting on the end of the bench. He knocked it to the ground, and gnawed on the lid until it popped open and drank all the hot chocolate inside. I thought of Allison of course!

OH.MY.GOD!

Ok, this haircut is just soooo screwed up, I had to share it with you. One side is nearly chin length, and cut on a weird angle, and the other side reaches my collarbone. What you can't see is the back, which has stragley bits left in the middle, which reach the middle of my back, which is how long the REST of my hair USED to be.

I came home and cried my eyes out. Yes, I know, it's stupid to be so upset over just hair, but it was getting really long, and I thought a few nice layers would look great. *hate hate hate*
I am thinking about shaving my head right about now!!!!!

668 aka Neighbor Of The Beast waggled a free ticket to see The Raconteurs at the Commodore Ballroom under my nose a couple of hours ago. I'm currently downing as much caffiene as my body will hold so I can make it there upright. What a mean friend she is eh? haha!
